COPYRIGHT NOTICE
Okay first things first, this is only a guide, not an in-depth walkthrough (who can make that for a racing game anyway?), and if you are looking for details such as race difficulty, how to beat a rival etc., well then, I dont think this will be of any use to you. Next, this is a walkthrough that has been made by me, Pramath Parijat aka charizard777, and I am in no way connected to EA, Blackbox or the NFS franchise except as a die-hard fan. This is my sole property that has been put up on this site with my permission and it may not be reproduced under any circumstances except for private or personal use. If you see this walkthrough/guide on any other site aside from Supercheats.com, e-mail me at [email protected] and label your mail as NFSMW GBA Copyright. Selling it or using it commercially or putting it up on your site without my permission is an infringement of copyright and you shall be punished severely for it.

VERSION INFO
0.1: started this FAQ. Described all modes and listed all racers

0.5: for a long while, there have been no updates except for slight grammatical issues. Now, finally, I add all cars and their upgrades.

0.7: I added the Which is the Best Car? Section under Cars Available with a complete comparison of each model.

1.0: After receiving lots of e-mails, I wrote down this final version complete with the FAQ section. No more updates on my part though if anything is found to be completely misleading, it shall be edited and corrected.

INTRODUCTION
Some time during the end of last year, EA Blackbox released the new NFS game: Need for Speed Most Wanted on the PC, PS2, PSP, GBA, Xbox and the Gamecube. To put it simply, this game, after the much-awaited yet disappointing Underground 2, exceeded my expectations. On the PC (I dont know about others, I dont have them) this game is cool, snazzy and gives a mixture of the old Underground-Road Rash-GTA vibes. On the Gameboy Advance, on the other hand, this is the fourth NFS title, and they have done a decent job of it. The gameplay is good, graphics are good, sound could have been better, the career layout is fine but they have messed up the pursuit races. But thats all later in the Guide. All in all, this is a nice game with decent gameplay that is absorbing enough to be played for a long time on your Gameboy.

BASICS
Well, NFS Most Wanted GBA is like any other NFS racing game on the Gameboy. The layout is simple enough: complete your career to reach the top of the blacklist. The controls for NFSMW on GBA are:

A: Accelerates in race, Main selection button in Main Menu
B: Reverse in race, Cancel button in menu
Start: Opens up Menu
Select: Changes view in race
Direction Pad: Acts as steering in race, cycles through choices in menu
L and R: Used for braking {R}, {L} button is used for changing options of race in a quick race

TYPES OF RACES
In Most Wanted GBA, there are three types of races that can be played using the Quick Race option on the main menu, plus another called Toll Booth.

CIRCUIT: The good old circuit races from the days of NFS II still survives, but with better tracks. Circuit Race is running around on a closed track for a specified number of laps and at the end of it all, trying to be the first to finish. This is a good mode for those who are fairly familiar with the game.

POINT 2 POINT: A new name for the Sprint races of Underground and Underground 2. This is a race that originated from Porsche Unleashed. A fairly easy race mode and good for new players who are trying to familiarize themselves with the game.

LAP KNOCKOUT: This is the toughest of the quick races. There are a set number of opponents, minus one lap. Simply put, the race takes place on a circuit track. Supposing there are seven opponents, then there will be six laps. At the end of each lap, the one who is at last position gets knocked out of the race, so the pressure is really high. The aim is to be the only one surviving at the end of all the laps. This mode should be tried by those who are advanced players of the game.

TOLL BOOTH: Now this is something new in an NFS game. There are a set number of Toll Booths (checkpoints) and a specific amount of time given to you, in which you have to reach the nearest Checkpoint. Each time you reach a Toll Booth, you will be given a new time in which you have to reach the next Toll Booth. Kind of like a solo race of Midtown Madness. Anyway, this is a fun mode that should be tried by all. And before you ask, the race ends when you have reached all the Toll Booths.

CAREER MODE
This is the ultimate, the one that is the reason for buying this not-so-great game. The Career of NFSMW GBA is a fifteen-chapter long mega game event that will see you rise from a lowly racer to the top ranks of the Blacklist. You start by buying a car. To see which is the best buy at each stage, see the Cars Available section. After that, you open Chapter One, where you have to beat Taz, Blacklist Rival# 15. But before that, you have to prove yourself to him by earning enough reputation by winning the three preliminary races given to you. Once you have enough rep and have won all three races, you can challenge Taz. Of course, in some cases, it may be possible for you to challenge your Blacklist Rival before winning all the races, but I would recommend you to finish all then and there: it saves time later, plus gives you plenty of points to buy upgrades or new cars. Once you have won all of the Blacklist races (not to mention the preliminaries) you will become the new Blacklist Champion, the Most Wanted racer ever in the world of NFS.

There are a few modes of racing here that are not in quick race. These are: Time Challenge (Multi), where you have to reach the finish line before your time runs out; Barricade, where you dodge the police obstacles and reach the finish line before your time runs out; Circuit/Sprint Knockout, where you have a series of races and the last one in each race is knocked out. The survivor at the end is the winner.

Once you have finished, congratulations! You are the new street-racing champ, at least, until the next NFS game comes out. Till then, its goodbye from Career mode!

The Blacklist is actually two things: in the story of the game, it is the polices most wanted list. Actually, it is the list of all the fifteen bosses in the game, who must be defeated in order to progress. The blacklist is:

** Cars marked with ** may be won after the last race, I really dont know.

Which is the Best Car to Buy?
BEGINNING: It might be wise to go for the Cobalt SS here, as its the best handled as well as the fastest car. Dont go for the Lexus, whatever you do!

MIDDLE: Around Chapter Two, I think, it will be good to get your hands on Mitsubishi Eclipse, its a car with speeds that make you dizzy and the handling is great too! Around Chapter Five, buy yourself an Audi TT or a Ford Mustang, both are good cars which will make the rival races seem easier than the preliminaries!

LATE: Around Chapter Seven, get your claws on either the Lamborghini or the Corvette, both cars that will prepare you for the final showdown.

END: Well, there is only one car to buy. Around Chapter Ten, buy the Porsche Carrera and finish off any racer who dares to threaten your rise to the top of the Blacklist with a snap!
