Stars are on your Trainer Card and you get one every time you accomplish one of 5 goals.

1) Beat Pokemon League.
2) Complete Pokedex with 200 pokemon.
3) Beat 100 consecutive battles in the Battle Tower.
4) Beat Master Rank in every competition.
5) Something else that I can't remember.

Stars appear on your trainer card. You get them after you accomplish certain things.
