No there is not the only way to make a egg is get your starter with a ditto or get two of your starter[one man one woman] and put them in their together
The only way you can make an egg without ditto is by using the same Pokemon you have. Example. If you have a male charmander, put it with a female charmander.

I can't believe this!
*brushes the others away with a frown*
Yes, you can get babies out of your starter without a ditto, IF, and only if your starter was female. In that case, it's about egg groups. If you have a male starter, I'm afraid you'll need a ditto, or a female of his species/family... :(
Here are the egg groups:
Monster*Dragon*Flying*Fairy*Grass*Mineral*Water 1*Water 2*Water 3*Field*Humanshape*Amorphous*No Egg*Bug*Genderless(breed only with Ditto)
Torchic/Combusken/Blaziken falls under Field
Treecko/Grovyle/Sceptile falls under Monster/Dragon
Mudkip/Marshtomp/Swampert falls under Monster/Water 1
Hope this helps!
