I have mystery gift on ruby and saphire and I use a link cable, and it says that there is an error with it, so can anyone tell me how to use mystery gift?if theres a certain thing I have to do or something

Hey all you need is an e-reader ..go to you're nearest store like gamestop and buy 1.then you can scan a Pokemon card w/ the code peace on the side..then talk to you're dad in the gym and he gives you what you hav scanned ....hope I was a help
