Question for Pokemon Ruby

I am stuck on how to beat my rival just outside of slateport my team is:
Grovyle lvl 20
Geodude lvl 15
Ralts lvl 18

Well from what I can see May is using torchic/combusken so the best Pokemon to use is Geodude..i think geodude has the move magnitude right? Use that on may's combusken to beat it...catch a water type and a fire type too..

Train your Pokemon more. It would also help to have more than 3 Pokemon on your team.

Try to level up your team some more, are add a few more Pokemon to your team.

Don't worry dude, you got Geodude on your team, just start off with Grovyle, then Ralts for Combusken, and Geodude for whatevers left.
