Question for Pokemon Ruby

Okay. I just got Pokemon Sapphire (!) and I have Mystery Events on my Ruby and Sapphire versions.

So, I was wondering, how do you do Mystery Events, because I link the games up, with a link cable, and it works, at first, but EVERY time it says to push the A button to confirm, it says that there's a problem with the link cable and to reset my game.

I thought that it might just be my cable, so I used my other two cables, but it still didn't work.

So, how do you use Mystery Events?

To use Mystery Event you need a e-reader.

Maybe you're using the old cables. I don't think those work with GBA's. But I'm not sure. But isn't suppose to be wireless?...

One of the games must have been updated at a nintendo event so the games can actually trade.
