HM01: Cut: Talk to the man in the house to the left of the Pokémon Center in Rustboro City; he will yield HM01. You must beat Roxanne to use this.
HM02: Fly: Battle May or Brendan after extracting Team Magma or Aqua from the Weather Institute; you get HM02 as a prize. You must beat Winona to use this.
HM03: Surf: Defeat Norman in Petalburg City and talk to Wally's parents in the house next to the Gym. You must beat Norman to use this.
HM04: Strength: Use Rock Smash on either of the rocks separating Wanda and her boyfriend in the Rusturf Tunnel; the boyfriend will give you HM04. You must beat Flannery to use this.
HM05: Flash: Talk to the spelunker in Granite Cave. You must defeat Brawly to use this.
HM06: Rock Smash: Talk to the scientist in the house below the Mauville Pokémon Center. You must defeat Wattson to use this.
HM07: Waterfall: Cave of Origin. You must defeat Wallace to use this.
HM08: Dive: Talk to Steven in his house in Mossdeep before you battle the town's Gym. You must defeat Liza & Tate to use this.
