Question for Pokemon Ruby

Hi,

I have reached the 8th gym in Sootopolis, been to the cave and caught Groudon and the gym door has opened but now I can't get up the icy slope inside the gym!

What do I need to get up the icy slope?

Also can someone tell me the next step after beating the Sootopolis gym leader?

You need to crack the icy floor so that each tile is cracked once before you face the slide, which will then convert itself into a staircase. After defeating this Gym, just go to Route 128 and access Evergrande City.
