My question is I got the two ruby's on the fire red and I got the running shoes in the ruby version and I can't still trade between the two versions.

Before you can trade between Firered/Leafgreen and Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, you must have:
In Firered/Leafgreen:
1. Retrieved the Ruby and Sapphire gems for Celio
2. Beaten the Pokemon League
3. Obtained the National Pokedex from Prof. Oak
In Ruby/Sapphire:
Note: National Pokedex will automatically install after first "outsider" enters the region through trade
In Emerald:
Note: You must have the National Pokedex from Prof. Birch before trading is possible with Firered/Leafgreen.
