Question for Pokemon Ruby

I'm really confused.

When I put in the code to find mew on an ar when I go in to the grass all I get is the usual pokemon.

What do I do.

Go to different grass or in a cave that's what I did.

First you have to see if the ar is turned after you put in the codes.

or

See if the code for mew is correct, or maybe the person or website that you got the code from is wrong.

or

Maybe you have the version of the action replay.

It might be in the pc or found in a certain route of cave.

It may take several tries if it was an ecounter code that you entered. There may also be an activation button you must press and hold while walking through the grass.
