If my internal battery has run dry for ruby, can I still catch corphish?

...I highly doubt it. No battery to play the game with, no game at all.
Yes. Unlike in Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal (where it renders the game incapable of holding a save), the death of the internal battery in Ruby/Sapphire will only stop all time-based events (such as the daily berry givers, growing berries, the Lilycove City Department Store Clearout Sale, and Mirage Island) will stop permanently. You can still play and save your game, and since the appearance of Corphish is not a time-based event, you will still be able to catch as many of them as you want.
If the game broken you can try to fix it or buy a new ruby version game, or it's maybe your Gameboy advance batteries.
Yes, you can still catch Corphish since it does not require real-life time to find.
If your internal battery has run dry than you can still save, but mirage island will no longer be avaiable to you. However, you can still catch corphish because it is not based on a time based event.
