Here is some real advice.
1.Get A Poke'mon that is considered Cute, Tough or whatever level you want to compete in.
2. Make that Poke'mon's moves be ALL of that type that the Contest type is such as Cool, Tough or whatever.
3.Read the description of the moves when you weiw your Poke'mon under contest mode.
4.WIN!!!

Debating what you are competing for, say beauty. I sent my Feebas in so I could get it thinking it was hot and evolve into Milotic. You have to use beauty moves basically. You can see that my looking into your Pokemon details. Feed berries that feed the beauty bar. You want that maxed out. But, that is just an example.
