It all depends on your personal battle style (Offense, defense, or balanced). There all multiple good comibinations for teams, and those are two good pokemon. Just keep trial, and error.

Probably blaziken sky uppercut, blast burn, fire punch, and over heat or fire blast. Blastoise bite, hydro pump, hydro cannon, and earthquake. Venusaur frenzy plant, sleep powder, razor leaf, and vine whip. Zapdos thunder, thunder bolt, shock wave,and charge. Articuno ice beam, blizzard, any thing else. Mewtwo psychic, psybeam, metronome, and any thing else. There you go the perfect team!!!

Honestly, their is no best team, just use any Pokemon, make them strong, EV train, etc.
You will be surprised.
