how do you get in the 8th gym

HI everyone I'm hoping you can tell me how to into the 8th gym I've been told that you have to use the item finder to find the key but I don't know were it is and also I've been told you have to find the gym leader but again I don't know were he is can anyone tell me? Thanks {^-^}

You can get there by Diving in the large area of dark water on route 128 and then by going into the underwater cave and then surfacing there. You will be in the Seafloor Cavern of Team Magma. When you find your way to Maxie, he battles you and you will see Groudon. Groudon goes off somewhere and you see Archie and you all go outside with the flashing light. When Maxie and Archie go, you Fly to Sootopolis and Maxie and Archie will be by the Gym. You Surf to the left and go up the stairs to the top of the town and then over to the right and Wallace the Gym Leader with Steven will be there. They talk to you and you go into the Cave of Origin Where you find Groudon(it's easy to find him). When you catch him(don't use your Master Ball, save it for Latios, look at my submission "Easy way to find Latios", or look at my Walkthrough), or make him faint(not recommended), you come out and you can battle Wallace.

Ok no offense but your explanation is wrong in a poin and to long but anyways the way to do that is Groudon after the hideout in lilicove go to underwater cavern get to groudon battle maxie in this case, and then groudon will disapear. Then go to sootopolis then origin cave where before you get there will be confronted by champion steven( yes he is Pokemon league champion) take flash go into cave go through it(youll find waterfall in there by a ladder) then battle and or catch groudon then go to gym and steven will talk to you then solve ice maze.

Ok I know this is a little late latios master and dragonite dude but I searched that cavern for about 3 hours strait with my charger plugged in and guess what no Maxie and no Archie tell me if I'm wrong or right cause I really need to find out where to find them to get the final gym badge and my swampert is lvl 70 right now I need the ansers

If you want to get to the 8th gym and in ruby you must first go to lilycove and search a entrance to a cave and inside there will be team magma members and they will tell you to go to mt. Pyre and so go there and go to the top of mt.pyre and there will be maxie and some team magma members. Once you have obtained the red orb go back to lilycove and into the cave and they will now tell you to go to slateport city and once youre there then go to the harbor and there will be maxie [I forget who was there but I'm sure there was poeple and somebody leading the way] and inside is a sibmarine and once youre finished talking to maxie the sibmarine will laeve and the next thing youll have to do is go to the cave in lilycove and there the team magma members garding it will be gone and so go to the final team magma member and once you finished talking to him the sibmarine will leave and so go to route 128 and there will be dark water and so use dive and search around until you found an entrance to a cavern and once in there get to the point where the fog comes up and continue going until you found maxie and so there you will battle him and once you deafeted him. Maxie will uleash groudon and so once you have come out of the cavern it will start to shine brightly and so go to route 126 and there will be dark water and so dive and search until youre in sootipolis city and so there will be steven and 8th gym leader: wallace and so go to the cave of orgin and deafet or capture groudon and so once youre out steven will be in the front entrence of the 8th gym.

Ok, First you find a nice lvl. 73 vaginikachu. But use your masterball to catch it since the vaginikachu can be hard to capture. But wear the vaginikachu out by using POUND since even the masterball can't catch it everytime. Then it will defeat anyone in one hit.

Theas is no key you carnt use you iterm finder for the key to battle the last gym leader
