Thers no real reason there just another Pokemon to catch but you can always try and cacth all of them from A-Z then ! And ? Aswell

Unknowns are Pokemon resembleing to the alphabet letter, they are obviously for collecting aswell as additional information to your pokedex.

Sadly I tried using them to spell something but it didn't work. But there is a Pokemon gameboy game or was it ds. Anyway if you have all the unowns then go to some guy and give him unowns that would spell something and the unowns will become that pokemon. So entei and stuff......... I think. I'm not sure it will work.
