Your suppose to trade it to Pokemon ruby, sapphire or emerald version and trade it back.
p.s. It depends what kind of day it is.

Trade your Eevee to Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald. Max out it's happiness by giving it things like Pok�Blocks and Lemonade. When it's happiness is maxed out, level it up one level at day for Espeon and at night for Umbreon.

Okay what you have to do is max out your eevee's happiness by:
1.)grooming it by daisy
or
2.)get it to love you more...
And the way you can tell is after you get your eevee groomed talk to daisy again but you have to have it first and she will taell you somethingeither that it loves you or it is not familiar with you or that it is warming up to youand that trust is being built.

Get eevee to really like you, and trade it with the newer versions of Pokemon games. Espeon is Eevee evolved in daytime, Umbreon is Eevee evolved in nighttime. Since there is no day-night in Leafgreen, you can't get it only using LeafGreen
