Lavitar you get by the dotted hole, and I would say gengar better attacks.

In my opinion Alakazam and Gengar are on an even footing.
As for Larvitar, you find it in the Sevault Canyon of Island 7.

For larvetar, you can catch him in the Sevault Canyon.
As for "who is better," I'd say Gengar because he can do ghost attacks and ghost defeats psychic.
