1) To beat the Pokemon League the first time you need Pokemon that are super-effective against theirs. 1st trainer is ice so use fire,however most are half water so use grass or thunder. The only Pokemon you need fire for is Jynx. The 2nd is Fighting but he also has two onix.Use grass or water against onix and psychic against the rest. The 3rd trainer uses poison and ghost so use psychic again. The 4th uses Dragon so use ice. For your rival use a variety of Pokemon. You also need about 5 revives and Full restore(health and status problems). Also have pokemon about lvl 55.

Venasaur lvl55:Razor leaf,sleep powder,giga drain,vine whip
Charizard lvl54:Flamethrower,slash,dragon claw,fire blast
Blastoise lvl54: Surf, ice beam, water gun bite
Alakazam lvl54: Psychic,psybeam,flash,hyper beam
Zapdos lvl55: Thunder wave,thunder,drill peck,fly
Articuno lvl55: Ice beam,blizzard,fly,mist

2) I give it a 5/10. They need to be rasied to at least lvl50 like I said and you should swap Nidoqueen and Pidgeot for Ice (articuno) and Grass (venasaur? or tangela). Also not all pokemon should know Hyper beam as while recharging they get a hit in. Sorry if I offended you.

3) Tentacruel learns Hydro Pump at lvl 55

4) It is preety difficult to catch articuno. You need a Pokemon to put it to sleep then attack untilyou get to less than five health. Every time it awakes put it back to sleep. It takes about 15 Ultra balls.
