So, you clicked on the name of the cheat code that you wanted to use in the game and the only thing the Gameshark did was show you the actual code? Did you press the A button or the right button when you selected the cheat code? I am asking because if you press the A button, then the code should be selected and will activate when you start playing the game. If you pressed the right button then it will show you the actual code but will not select it. If pressing the A button does not work out then just keep trying different buttons until you find the correct one that activates the cheat codes or look at the controls on the manual to see what each button does. You could also look up a video on youtube, someone might have a video showing you how to use it.
