To trade to saphire you must go to the place where the islands are and find the saphire and ruby.
To cath articuno put it to sleep then keep using ultra balls.

The easy way is to at the title screen press and hold select+a+b or select+start+b. I forgot which one.

To catch articuno just weaken alot and put to sleep save before battle though it may take a couple of times he is very hard to catch oh yea bring lots of ultra balls hope I helped
