Well in the islands where you catch moltres articuno and zapdos go to the top and walk through the grass a couple of times and babo a magmar has to appear if it dosent your game is broken or some thing=) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's in the grass ON Mt. Ember (One Island). That is the only place to find.

Island 1 In Mt.Ember There Are Alot Of Grass Right? There You Will See Magmar On The Grass Cannot See Must See What Wild Pokemon Appear Then If Iss Magmar Catch.. There U Will See Magby Magmar Slugma

ya its on the grass of mt.ember

I tried looking numerous times in the caves of mount ember but found nothing. If you go to the base of mount ember and walk up a few levels to the grassy areas it will take you about 5 minutes walking around to find magmar. It is relatively easy to catch.

Magmar sucks. Dont bother catching it. Go to serebii.net for proof.

Magmar may be accuired on the Mountain you find Moltres after you beat the Elite Four. The first time you go to the mountain, this area is inaccessible, but later on you discover Team Rocket digging tunnels in the mountain. Inside, you can find Slugma and Magmar.

You can find it on island one in Mt. Ember. Hope you enjoy your future Magmar.

I do not know because I havent found one but they say it's on mountain ember on patches of grasses
