Question for Pokemon FireRed

Um, I have a couple of questions, actually.
First, if I can, how do I get to the orange islands?
Second, how can I raise my friendship with my Charizard in order to teach it Blast Burn?
Third, I went to the Pokemon Center in New York City, and the gut there said that in order for me to trade between my Fire Red Version and my Sapphire Version, I can just use one of the original link cables. It didn't work, so what am I supposed to do?

-There are no orange islands =( (just like there is no Tracie) that was something put in the pokemon anime series to try and make it less predictable =D (try)

-Raising friendship~ get Daisy Oak to groom it for you, win some important battles (gyms, Rival, rockets, Elite Four) this is basic really, get them into the hall of fame (once or twice will do) they like the attention, and they'll love you more =D check with daisy to see how much your lead pokemon likes you (to learn blastburn you need to at least get Daisy to say that she wishes her brother; your rival, to be able to see how happy your pokemon are... which is the second highest rating i believe... eh not sure, all my pokemon couldn't possibly love me more =D)

- Maybe you haven't completed the Ruby/Sapphire gem quest =D ?? After returning Lorelei to the Elite Four, goto Mt. Ember again (remember those rocket grunts that kept ignoring you?) talk to them, start a battle, follow the storyline and eventually you'll be able to Trade with ruby/sapphire. If you've already done this then =( I don't know what is wrong...

To Trade between the Ruby and Sapphire versions you have to beat the Elite 4 then go to One Island and help Celio find the Ruby
