You can't. Gold and Silver are for Gameboy, FireRed and LeafGreen for GBA. You can NEVER Trade between two different systems. You can ONLY trade with Ruby and Saphhire.

But a poloswine will evolve into a mamoswine only by teaching a move called ancient power which can be only taught by a move tutor in blackthrone city which is in pokemon gold and silver. If I cant trade my piloswine how can I evolve it?

mamoswine was introdused in Diamond/Pearl. Therefor you can not evolve piloswine to mamoswine.

If you look at crystal it does say gameboy color and gameboy advance on it, haven't tested it out myself yet, will shortly when I get my copy but it is a possibility, worse comes to worse get a gameboy usb smart card and a mega memory card and trading is possible with a pc
Aeon-Flux answered:

I am sorry, but you cannot Trade your Pokemon from Pokemon Gold, Pokemon Silver or Pokemon Crystal. I have heard there making new games for Pokemon Gold, Pokemon Silver and Pokemon Crystal though. The result is released on Nintendo DS. Something you might want to research, and you would be able to trade your Pokemon from all around then. But I don't think Pokemon FireRed would still be able to trade with the games, unless they are released on GameBoy Advance, which isn't likely. I haven't seen any GameBoy Advance games on any Wal-Mart shelfs.

ChrisMaclean answered:

I'm sorry but Gold and Silver are only for the Game Boy system and Firered and Leafgreen for the Gameboy Advance. It is impossible to do so except with Pokemon Colleseum or the opposing game or the same. Hope this helps

Guest answered:

Sorry, you're not able to Trade Gold and Silver Pokemon to Firered and Leafgreen. What you CAN do however, is get Firered and Leafgreen Pokemon to go to HEARTgold and SOULsilver. Hope this helped.

Guest answered:

I seem to get the feeling everyone is such a noob trying to say that he/she should try the remakes. Is that going to help? It means spending more money. Plus, this also affect me. Now my master plan of doing the Mew Glitch and trading a Mew from my yellow all the way to my White version has vanished into thin air.

Guest answered:

Actually you can I did it you have to complete the gen 2 game as well as gen 3 game and then get the national dex and put the gen 2 in a colour or advance and another gba and Trade using a link cable I think I will check thoughhhh................................................................

Does this work?
Guest answered:

You can, all you people saying you can't are wrong. Pokemon collesium is the way to get Pokemon from gbc to gba, but the way is a bit difficult and time consuming.

You can get Pokemon gold and silver through codes and what not but they don't Evolve due the different codes of GBC and GBA

Guest answered:

I tired it myself last night 2 gba, one has silver and the other has leaf green. ... It doesn't work. It just says your trading partner is not ready. What about the time capsule anyone?

Guest answered:

It is impossible to Trade between games because the later Pokemon games for the gameboy have different number of IVs and EVs then the newer ones.

thackattack answered:

It would be impossible to Trade from the old gen I and II games to the new ones because they changed the IVs and EVs count between the two. The old games have IVs in the range of 0-15 while the new gen releases have the IVs count in the range of 0-31.
