No you need the link cable to trade with blue or yellow to get all 150 and follow the procedure in the cheating section here to gt Mew for 151 pokemon

First you have 2 get all the Pokemon you can get in the game then link with a person with the same game and trade with them or people with leaf

Ok I don't even understand what the first three people are saying so here it is in simpler terms there are certain Pokemon that can't be caught in each version so if you are playing red you need to get the others from blue and the same if you are playing blue you need to get the others from red so good luck completeing your pokedex I know how hard it is but stick at it

As someone who has beat Red many times I must tell you that you cannot complete your pokedex without a cable link if you have been to the special Mew givaways... Then you must get a friend to give you Pokemon that are not in the game what so ever. Sorry that is just the way it is if you know a cheat that says otherwise then good for you but don't tell me. I like to use cheats once I beat the Elite Four.

Yes you can, but it takes a LONG time.. And repeatedly using the Mew glitch with people other than the person you battle to get a mew... But you CAN get all of the Pokemon this way.. (i have all 152) (missingno does NOT ruin your game, just the sprites of your hall of fame)
(missingno as #0, all the way to mew(#151)
