Bethesda Drops a Bomb at Microsoft E3 Presser: PC Mods for Fallout 4 on Xbox One

08. Rancho Villa Mod

While there are plenty of different mod categories to be found for FNV, one of the best loved has to be the mods that fall in the housing category, and the Rancho Villa Mod is just such a one.

Perhaps the most annoying aspect of play in New Vegas is the fact that home bases - with their storage containers, crafting tables, and beds - yeah, we love our sleep - tend to be in a narrowly laid section of the world.

Rancho Villa is built off the highway southeast of Good Springs - an area that really needed player housing!

The package creates a large ranch-style home with a porch and open floor-plan. An open-air courtyard for your lounging pleasures is also part of the package.

Conveniences include a fully functional toilet, working light switches, a fireplace, a master bedroom with bed AND a bunk room for your companions to use. There is tons of storage, and a well-equipped kitchen for your dining pleasure.

This is just a starting point for housing mods but one of our favorites nonetheless - players who feel the need for a more portable housing solution can find that as well in the housing category of mods, but if you are just looking for a suburban home base, we recommend Rancho Villa!

07. The Wave Radio Mod

The radio stations that you access from your Pipboy are one of the most endearing features of the Fallout game series. From the radio stations in the games you get to hear news of current events, commercials, and songs from the era in the game, as well as some quest prompts and other interactive content in the lore category.

Wouldn't it be great to have additional radio stations in your game that offer more music or chat? Hsy we got that covered!

The Wave Radio Mod adds DJ Blake, a vinyl God who spins tunes via his original voiced radio station that sports 60 tracks plus public service announcements, news segments, and banter.

Blake and Wave have a real presence in the Wasteland! You can actually visit him - if you find his house - where you can experience over 60 lines of conversational dialogue!

Under the category of interactive play, if you do some small favors for Blake you can even gain access to his weapon stash. Among the favors and tons of Easter Eggs is the opportunity to track down additional songs for Blake to play on his station.

The tracks in this mod include Hey Ba-ba-re-be-bop by Tex Beneke Orchestra and Glenn Miller, Accentuate the Positive by Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters, and Johnny B Goode by Chuck Berry.

Mood music includes Manhattan Serenade by Tommy Doresy and Jo Stafford. Stardust, by Frank Sinatra, and Hey Now, Hey Now, by Cab Calloway. Heck we could go on and on but what it the point when we can just tell you that there is plenty of period music to add to your game! And all of it is public domain, so nobody can flag your Let's Plays on the Youtubes!
