To unlock stars that appear next to your name, follow these instructions:
One Star:
Beat all cups in all modes, getting a 1-star rating or better
Two Stars:
Beat all cups in all modes, getting a 2-star rating or better
Three Stars:
Beat all cups in all modes, getting a 3-star rating
