Question for LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4

I am stuck in the chamber of secrets, how do you reach the hat sitting on the statue head so I can defeat the basilist????

Create and drink the Strength Potion, then go up the ramp on the left and pull the chain to open the metal gate. A scene will then follow.

After the scene, hit the basilisk's head with a spell (you will need to aim). Head to the area that was behind the gate and use Wingardium Leviosa to attach the chains and pulling them down. Fall through the large pipe to get near the basilisk.
