The demo has no release date yet! But you can sign up for the halo 3 beta or buy the game Crackdown to be able to get the Halo 3 Beta which you should be able to play that online sometime in spring.

Um dude the beta came and gone in june and it was really cool

The demo was released in 2006. The game which is now released since April 2007.
