Multiplayer malfunction?

Alright, so when I go on to the multiplayer part from the selection screen I put in the game mode I wanna play and press the matchmaking majig. Then it starts, but there's a problem, no matter how long I wait it won't match me with anyone. BTW I do have a solid internet connection and Xbox live gold. So any help please??

Test your xbox live connection, there might be something wrong with xbox live.

This could be a bug, or maybe theres just nobody who's a good match?
It also might depend how many other people are playing, if you are on at 5 am not many people will be playing.

The Gears of War 2 matchmaking is just extremely slow in general. =/ It has taken me 30 minutes to get 1 match.

Sometimes it actually takes some time to join in a match. We don't know why, but it takes sometimes a long time to get into one. Try something easy like Horde or etc.
