see the future AND knothole island help

For the see the future I beat the cursed snowglobe but forgot to open all the chest and when I go back to murgo I can't do the rest of the quest.is there anyway to get around this?

For knothole island I beat the big freeze but the quest is still in my log and I can't get to the big heat one. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.

1. I don't think getting the chest should matter.. but have you tried getting back into the snowglobe?

2. Do the big freeze one first, then a few days later the other quest will be avaiable(:
