Well you're really not. Some of the good old rules of the original Dead Space have been thrown out the window. Rules such as, if you're at a bench or store, you can't be harmed. This is not true at all in this game. You're actually more vulnerable at a store or bench. If you use one, there is a chance that an enemy will show up and slash at you from behind, ripping you away from the store or bench. Don't use them unless you're sure the room is clear.
