Not so much a cheat as it is a really good hint:

When you finally find Collosus try to have either Rouge, Jean Grey, or Storm in your party and make sure they can fly. If you don't mind skipping over the fighting part (I've done it, there's not much around except a Danger Room disc with Storm's challenge which is not absolutely necessary) fly up above until you can't rise anymore and go over the wall to where there is the X-traction point. Switch your party so you have both Jean Grey and either Storm or Magma (if you can figure out how to get her to weld). Open the doors, use Jean Grey's power on each of the holder things first then weld them in place. There now rather than wasting the twenty minutes they give you on possibly one of the least fun parts of the game you take a maximum of a minute, isn't that nice?
