Currently, there's no sequel to ninja gaiden, not that I know about anyway...

However, the party doesn't have to end when you actually finish the game. A few new unlockables which you erm... Unlock...

become available when you finish the game.
Good stuff like plasma saber and FMV, or very hard difficulty on a new game.

Also, as you mentioned, on Xbox live there IS a new feature which you can download. New weapon thingie.
However, this is the only patch untill now.
Be patient. I expect a few more to come, along with new levels and features.
