You don't really lock on with the energy sword you just wait until your targeting reticule goes red (normaly about three feet from your opponent) then pull the right trigger to lunge at them. If you do this right it is a one hit kill (on multiplayer anyway).
To lock on with the rocket launcher you must be targeting a vehicle with someone in it or a large turret. Four red triangles should appear around the target, then all you have to do is pull and hold the right trigger until you are locked on then release the trigger. Then bang, bye bye vehicle.
Hope this helps.
just keep your aimer on them for a couple of seconds and it will lock
As far as I know you cannot lock on with an energy sword, but with a rocket launcher, you look at the vehicle and hold the right trigger until it stops beeping.
If your talking about sword cancelling, which is where you can strike people with your sword from very long distances, you need to have a rocket launcher and an energy sword.
First you need to lose all your ammo with your rocket launcher.
Then aim at somebody with your rocket launcher so that your aimer is red (this won't work when you zoom), and hit right trigger and Y at the same time.
It takes practice and good timing to do it correctly. If you do it correctly, than you should start flying toward your foe.
Energy sword- When the circle turns red attack.
Pocket Launcher- You can aim but not lock on.
