Introduction

WWE SmackDown vs RAW 2007, is the latest in a line of some very successful Smackdown! Games, from way back on the Playstation 1.
Basically, you control one, or two (depending on match type) Superstars, and try to gain a win using any means nescissery, whether it is via pin, submission, or countout. There are many different matches to compete in, including harcore, cage matches, and even the career ending Elimination Chamber.
The designers, and producers of this game are THQ, and Yukes.

Graphics

The graphics for this game take fighting games to a whole new level, you can see how exhausted the wrestlers feel, with sweat dripping off their face, or if they have been battered during the match, the facial expressions are awesome.
The entrances bring the game to life before you even play the match, as they look exactly like what you see on your TV screens. The fireworks and explosions look amazing when they enter.
There could be a tiny bit of work done, to improves the way the crowd look, and make their actions a little less repeatative, but overall the graphics for this game would be a 10.

Sound

You can hear the wrestlers moan in pain, as they are performing moves, or are stuck in submissions; adding even more realism to the game. Steel chairs connect with the superstars skulls, you hear the huge thud, it is incredible realistic, as all weapons make realistic noises, whether it is metal on metal with the ladder, or the sound of wood snapping, as the sweaty superstars are pummelled through tables.
Explosions and fireworks, in time with the wrestlers entrance make it look, and sound awesome, as well as their entrance music, matching with the right superstars make the game real, and authentic.
Whilst in options screens, or chosing matches, the background music is good, with a mix of rap, rock and metal, it matches everyones tastes.
In season mode, there are voice overs, that actually sound just like the WWE Superstars themselves, and in time with the mouth movement, makes season mode really worthwhile.
However, what lets this game down on sound, is the commentery, although they sound like the WWE commentators, the lines just too repeatative, and all they seem to do, is argue, and they have slight glitches, as they get moves, and such wrong. However the crowd make it a bit better, as they roar you when you taunt, and boo the low blows!

Gameplay

There is a lot of choice in what to do for this game, but I'll start with the Creations Modes. In creations modes, you get to create a whole host of things to go in with your game, such as Superstars, whether they be high-flyers, or Super-heavywieght monsters, and there is a huge range of attire to select, as well as anything else you could want for a superstar, being able to create, Hulk, to King Kong. There is also WWE Belt creations system, creating belts, from spinners to normal belts, looking the hardcore style, or glamorous spinners with ruby jewels. Not to mention creating movesets, to make your created Superstar have the most death defying stunts, or power house moves. Create stables, so you can have your favourite wrestlers in a faction, and make them unbeatable, as they can interfere in matches.

GM Mode has a lot to offer, as you are the General Manager of either RAW, or Smackdown!, and chose matches that your employed wrestlers can compete in, trying to out perform your opposing brand at the same time, hiring Legends to your roster can help you accomplish this.

WWE Season Mode, where you play 1 year, as a Superstar, going through humourous, and exciting storylines, as you compete for the highest prize, the WWE title. PPV Mode makes you able to create you very own PPV, call it what you wish, have whatever matches you wish, and use whatever Superstars, as you play, skip, or watch the matches.

Costomize your very own locker room, to the way you like, whether your liking is having the Diva posters and banners everywhere, or random items you unlock from the WWE Shop.

The WWE Shop, is accessed from the PC, where you can buy items with WWE Cash you earned in storymode, whether these items be Banners and ornaments to costomize the locker room, attires for the superstars, or WWE Legends to play in Exhibition.
You can also attempt the challenges that are available, Superstar Cahllenges, Legends Challenges, or the Tester Challenge, reliving moments from the passt in WWE, as you play them.

In game, there are new available moves, such as Ultimate control moves, where you are in control of the type of move, and also the new Environmental Grapples, where you drag your opponent for the Ten Punch in the corner turnbucckle, or have them go for a ride on the ropes.

Lastability

This game lasts a very long time, with all the different modes, Season Mode, GM Mode and Creating your own Belts, superstars and such for your entertainment.

Play many different match types on Exhibition, and defend your created WWE titles, in a host of different matches, you can not get bored, with so many different matches available, for example, Hardcore, Elimination Chamber, Hell In A Cell, Tag Matches, Ladders, First Blood and Buried Alive, the list is endless.

Overall

I give this game 10/10, the quality it gives, and the quantity of quality, is awesome. The laod of different game modes gives you plenty of fun, and enjoyment, and you can change the difficulty level, depending on your mood, whether you just want to beat the living hell out of opponent, and practise your new moveset, or whether you are up for a challenge.
Being able to defend your titles, having Ultimate control moves, and environmental grapples top it all off.

A classic.
