WRC 9 Tips
Play Challenge Mode First
You will find it more beneficial if you resist the temptation of hitting the track straight away in WRC 9 and instead visit Challenge mode. This feature is accessed at the Main menu and will introduce you to the basic gameplay of WRC 9 via short events.
Start in the Junior WRC Class
Once you feel you have got to grips with playing Challenge mode and are ready for Career mode you will have two classes from which to choose from. These are the WR3 which features the R5 cars which are the slowest racing cars in the World Rally Championship and the Junior WRC class which has the best beginner-friendly cars in the game and is ideal for players who are unfamiliar with WRC games. If you are the later choose the Junior WRC class and work your way up the career ladder.
Investing Research Points
Career mode in WRC 9 uses a research and development tree which allows you to invest the Research Points you earn from completing rallies and events into four different talent trees. It is recommended that you focus on the Reliability tree (blue, bottom right) first as this will help you minimise damage and repair times of your car. After that you can disttribute the Research Points on the talent trees that best suit your play syle. If you want to improve the acceleration of your cars you need to invest in the Performance tree (red, top left).
