You can't unlock Shadow as a playing character but he is a Assist Trophy.

He means when you unlock Sonic you unlock Shadow but Shadow is a Assist Trophy

You could unlock him when I was playing as sonic all of a sudden when I entered battle I was shadow

U have to play 10,000 battles in brawl and 20 hours in 4 player brawl

I heard do 4 player mode one of you has to be sonic go to greehill zone and sonic has to win

How Do You Get Knuckles?

To become shadow you have to download the Hombrew channel, then download the shadow cheats. When you do that, put your SD card into your computer then load the shadow cheats onto your wii's SD card. Then
Put the SD card into your wii, put super smash bros brawl in, go into the Homebrew channel and load the shadow cheats and it should work properly.
