In training mode, it's how many times you hit an enemy in a row before either he hits the ground or the "timer" clocks out (b4 you say anything, the "timer" I refer to is the one that times how long between your hits)

Yup it's how many time you hit your opponent in a row.
You can use Kirby on Hyrule temple to get 999 max Combos.

In training mode. You see something called Max Combo. All you do it just to make sure it you do consectutive attacks before the opponet hits the ground. A choice for a almost endless max combo is either Falco or Kirby. They can get a Max Combo up to 999. Hope this helps.

To get the largest max combos in training, raise your opponent's damage to a very high percentage. Then, grab your opponent and hit him as many times as you can (press A while he is grabbed). Keep doing this until you get the number of hits (while you are grabbing him) for the max combo that you want.

It's just how many combos you have landed on your opponent.hitting him repeatedly without giving him a chance to retaliate is pretty much what a combo is

Here's what you should do. If you can get an opponent to a high damgage level, and if you're on the already made custom stage 3 (bath or something like that) just hit them repeadetly against the wall. (note: it is very difficult)

A good way I used was to get lucario, get your oppenent next to a wall, face away form them, and just use your regular special. The ball does damage automatically as long as you don't fire it, and you don't have to endlessly tap a button. However, ii don't think you can get the max combo with this method without a custom stage designed keep your enemy from flying away. Speaking of which, I've found that heavier charachters make better punching bags for this.

A combo hit like when shiek holds the regular atk button.If you want 999 mac combos,throw a smart bomb to the enemy next to you and when it blows up,Go to menu right away and press on the smart bomb 1 at a time and when the cpu has 999 damage, quit and youll see 999 max combos.HOPE I HELPED!
