I am sure that I am getting this game and I am wondering who is the best starting character in the game?

Well I gon't know it depends in your favorite style of brawling. Speed is Fox balanced is Mario.Pit and Kirby are good at Recovery.Bowser Ike and King dedede have power. Some websites call Metaknight the best in the game because of ,but I rarely use him.

Well it's hard to say,it all depends on your favorite style of brawling.
Mario-Is a well Balanced character.
Kirby-Is good at Recovering.
Bowser-Is Power character.
It all depends on why style you like,so I suggest trying all the
Characters,and finding the style you like.

It would just be based mainly based on your style.
For starting characters. Mario would be with balance. Pikachu and Fox with speed. Bowser,King Dedede,and Ike based with Power. Pit,Kirby,and Meta Knight with Recovering.
Just do what fits your style. Try playing with all characters to find which best suits you.

Meta knight anyone who says other wise deserves to blow up.really this guy is broken in so many ways.5 mid air jumps.can glide,fastest smashes in the game(d smash is most godly),and insane grab range.another thign is he is the easiest person to main.just watch a combo video of him online and you should be able to pick him up like that

Link has a good balance of melee and ranged attacks, and a good grapple.

The best starter character is kirby
That way you can learn other characters moves and choose to be them...or kirby

I recomend bowser because he is powerful, the heaviest character in the game ( so you wont get launched easily ) , and has one heck of a final smash! But jcv97 does have a good point...

Pit or Fox. Pit can fly and has good attacks, and Fox is fast and has good attacks.

Actually the best is Meta Knight. In fact, he is the best in the entire game. He has no bad matchups, and people even want him banned. Truly the most broken of all characters.

Lucas cause hes strong enough to beat people. PK FIRE. PK FREEZE. PK THUNDER. PK SHOCK. PK STAR RAIN. PK BLAST. PK SHOCK WAVE. PK WOODEN STICK. PK STRIKE. PK FLIP. PK SPIN KICK. PK WAVE. PK BALL. PK SPIKE. That's the best to start with.
