Swim Distance help!!!

I can't get swim distance for some reason. I have swum in single player modes and I have picked group mode with me vs 3 computers and picked pirate ship level and swam the whole time instead of fight and under stats it still says 0 swim distance. So I created a name and swam in group mode on that and still nothing. What am I doing wrong? HOW do you get swim distance!?!?!?!?

P.s. An no I'm not drowning either.

Well, my cousin came over and fooled around so much we beat that challenge. I know...weird...if you just floated, and you didn't move around, maybe that is why. You need to at least move around a little.

I went on the boat stage like you said and never fell into the water and got the trophy so I'm not really sure how I got it

You can collect the stickers in Subspace. Or you can hold the D-pad in the swimming direction.

You have to use another human player

Pick the toon Link stage and go in front of the boat and when your character faces the screen jump back up to the boat and go into the water again and repeat this 6 times.
