Lag is something that happens when your connection is experiencing a lot of activity. To get rid of Lag you can do one of the following:
Find a better connection. Buy a fast and good wireless router. You can also buy a Lan adapter(about 10$-20$) and use a wired connection through the Lan adapter(you will need to be using a modem).

I highly recommend using a Lan adapter since wired connection are very fast and highly trusted.

I also reccommend just moving your wii closer to your computer.
Also, if you're playing somone oversea's, there WILL be lag, I guarantee it, even the smallest amount.

MarioHSF answered:

That's technically impossible, unless you move closer to them. But that isn't likely to happen unless somehow you are playing the Wii on an airplane headed to the person you are Brawling. The best way is to just get better connection. I use a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector (we didn't have a wireless router yet) and sometimes I move the Wii close to the connector, or the connector close to the Wii.

Well you can't get rid of it,but one thing that helps is if you play with people in your region
