2.1.3 1-4 beating the star block

Sands of yold

Walk right until you find a blue platform. Stand on it and
Press 1 and - at the same time. Walk up the stairs and hit the star
Block.

I tried this and it does not work is there a trick to it or something else that is needed first to beat this star block or a special spot to hit?
Please help

Stand on top of the blue pillar. And press 1 and - at the same time. The dragon cave thing (basically in front of you) will open. Some other people have said you have to face left or be in 2-d, but I'm pretty sure if you just hold them down the cave will open and you'll be able to hit the star block and end the chapter... I don't remember anything special that I had to do just besides holding 1 and - down at the same time...

You are right except that you should press <- <- <- before you press - and 1.

Did you really stand on the blue platform, then press 1 and -? Maybe try holding the buttons, and it will open. I think you are standing on the blue pillar, not blue platform.

Perfect thank you for this we were standing on the stupid blue pillar trying to col - and 1 when all the time you have to go further and find the blue platform, then it happens with no problem....Thank you we were so stuck
