Introduction

Oh no. No, please, not that game that made me cut off my own ear and give it to some girl at the bar! Not Trauma Center! ......................what? It's on the Wii? AND it's the same game? Well, considering the only thing wrong with the first one was controls, I guess I'll try it.

In this game you still play as Derek Stiles, a surgeon, a doctor, whatever you wanna call it. But not just any doctor, nooo, a newbie doctor who doesn't really understand his job. Once you almost lose a patient, you step up and take your job seriously, and a good thing too, because soon after, you deal with a special disease created by bio-terrorists and join a secret government orginization(like we don't have enough of those)to help find the cure. It is also discovered that you are apparently decended from the Greek god of medicine and have a special power called the Healing Touch, which you use to slow down time.
Occasionally, you get to play as Nozomi Weaver, a surgeon with special abilities shunted from Japan for being thought of as a which. She also has the healing touch.

Graphics

I know, I know, the graphics aren't the best, but the anime style characters have been beautifully done, and look frikin' amazing. Characters also have more than one design so that their animation fits the characters emotions. Operations look vey smooth, giving you that realistic feeling without being to gory and graphic. A great thing that they did with the gamewas that when you are first making your opening incision, the developers were kind enough to cover up certain...uh...parts so the game is a little more kid friendly. You don't have to look at any private parts that you don't want to.

Sound

Aside from the fact that this game has a total of maybe six tracks of music(Naruto anyone?), all of the music in this game is FONOMINAL! The music in this game is usually fun and upbeat during cut scenes, but there is also sad music, the calm before(or after) the storm, scary, tense, awesome music, and it all blends so well into this game. Music during the actual operations is usually just one, good track, but some operations have this scary, upbeat, tense music too. And once, just once, you get the best "HOLY SHIT I CAN"T LET THIS PERSON DIE!" music that there ever was. What little voice acting there is in this game is great, and the characters who have voices all sound perfectly right for their personality and look.
All of the sounds for your surgical instruments are so good that I really couldn't tell if they came from my TV or my Wii Remote.

Gameplay

"Aww man, I put my Kingdom Hearts II dificulty too high and now I'm stuck!"
Do you have a Wii? Then pick up Trauma Center, it lets you switch difficulty on the episode select screen, so if the game is too hard for you on medium, then just switch to easy. More good news is that the game is NOT super easy on any of the difficulties, and can stilll be challenging on some places on any difficulty. Control, aiming, and precision are all very important. DO NOT drink coffee before you play this game. The game rates you on how fast you are(your time is usually fiv minutes before the patient dies but sometimes it's ten), the patients vitals(going from zero to nintey-nine, basically, if these run out, your patient dies, but you have a serum that can boost these.), and how many Cool, Good, Bad, OK, and Miss ratings you get.
Tools include the scalpel, surgical laser, difibrilator(but only sometimes, like when the patient is suffering cardiac arrest.), forceps, all purpose gel(used to heal small cuts, and placed on the skin before making an incision.), ultrasound, syringe(used to inject all sorts of different serums into patients and GUILT), stiches, bandages, and the drain(used for sucking up excess blood, and occasionally cytoplasm.). You will be using all of these frequently and sometimes in creative ways.

Lastability

There are a LOT of operations in this game, making for lots, and lots, and lots, and lots ,and lots ,and lots, and LOTS of replay, and three difficulties make for even more episodes to choose from. You can also go back to missions that you have already beaten and do them again to try for a better score. Trust me when I say that this won't be leaving your disc slot any time soon.

Overall

Wow, that took me like an hour to type, but I type pretty slowly so I guess that that's okay. This game is almost perfect in every way. The only thing I wanted to see more of was voiice acting. Not enough there. Trauma Center: Second Opinion is probably the most frustrating game that you will play all year, but in good way. 100%

Final Score: 100%
