Companions Guide

In The Outer World there are six companions you can get to join your ranks, each of which having a unique attack ability you can utilise during combat, they will also have their own quest line. Check out our Companions Guide to find out more about these characters.

Parvati

You will find Parvati in Edgewater on Terra-2, she is the first companion you can get. Before your arrival interrupts them Parvati will be in a debate with Reed Tobson about fixing something. If you listen to what Tobson has to say Parvati will offer to accompany you.

Parvati slams down her hammer creating a blast wave that shocks enemies and stuns automechanicals.

Vicar Max

The head of the church in Edgewater is Vicar Max who wants you to help him find a book. You can either visit the church on Parvati's suggestion or just go in and talk to him. During this conversation, you will be able to start his recruitment quest 'The Illustrated Man' which will involve you seeking out a forbidden book in a nearby collector's house.

Max examines and evaluates his target and spiritually enlightens them with a blast from his shotgun.

SAM

SAM, which stands for Sanitation and Maintenance is a friendly cleaning robot repurposed to mop up people. SAM is already on board The unreliable, he can be found on the top floor, inside a small closet. SAM becomes operational again when you find the Acid Steeper in the quest called 'The Cleaning Machine'.

SAM jumps in the air and slams down near his target spewing out caustic cleaning fluids all around to get out those really tough stains.

Felix

You will see Felix when you dock at the Groundbreaker for the first time during the quest 'Passage to Anywhere', he will be arguing with a Corporate Trooper outside of Customs. After you've talked to Udom Bedford in Groundbreaker and no longer have your ship impounded, you will find Felix waiting for you by The Unreliable. If you enter into conversation with him you will be able to acquire his services.

Felix charges his target, leaps into the air and slams into the target with both feet.

Ellie

Ellie is a pirate and a former surgeon, you will first meet her inside the Medbay of Groundbreaker arguing with Dr. Mfuru about a patient. After you solve the problem which is acquiring a Mardet ID Cartridge, Ellie will agree to join you.

Ellie quickly draws her pistol and fires off a series of precision shots at her target.

Nyoka

Nyoka is a Monarch native and a big game hunter and the sixth and final companion you can recruit. In order to recruit Nyoka you will have to complete the quest 'Passion Pills' which can be acquired at Stellar Bay in Monarch. After you complete the quest she will offer to join you.

Nyoka uses her personally modified LMG to deal damage to her target and set enemies near it ablaze.
