How can I get nutrients to feed plants on the island of Plant Kingdom

There are two badges in the Botany Hut in particular I've found which reward nutrients. Carefree Sower (planting on your home island) and Tutti Frutti (planting fruit trees on your home island). Supposedly leveling up Botany skill also results in nutrient rewards.
They can be purchased for diamonds, but they're pricey; it appears they're 68 each and are only available while on the Island of the Plant Kingdom.
For some quests etc. And on temporary islands you'll get nutrients as well. Just find out and don't spend too much of them, it's a waste and often times not needed to grow your plants and trees successfully.
