You can get energy from the starfish, clams, crabs, and chests on your island. You can also get energy and diamonds for completing quests. Cornucopia gives you diamonds each day for about a week until you have to start buying them for real money. Another way you can get them is by getting sets of them in card-flipping games, like catching butterflies.
