How do you beat the dragon on island of the accord

You have to have the right weapons, and make sure you have at least 2 or 3 combo's, in other words you have to win at least two rounds, before you use those weapons. That gives you, if you are lucky, enough damage to the dragon to win. You may have to try a few times, but it is possible. Three combo's is better but are hard to get.
