How to get a High Score

Streets of Rage 4 is predominantly an arcade type game that has an emphasis on score as it is through scoring Lifetime points that you are able to unlock the various retro characters. Check out our Streets of Rage 4 guide to find out the best way to get a high score.

As you play through Streets of Rage 4 the game will alert you during the course of a stage when you reach specific thresholds by earning a certain amount of Lifetime points. Reaching these milestones will reward you with unlocking retro characters and extra lives (There are no 1-up items in Streets of Rage 4).

All the Lifetime points that you earn during a level in Streets of Rage 4 are added to your grand total, which builds up in a meter. The best ways to earn points during a stage is through performing combos. As you hit enemies the number on the left side of the screen will keep count of how many times you have managed to do so in a row. Your aim is to try and get this number as high as possible by continuously performing combos. If for whatever reason you do not land a combo for a few seconds the combo counter will reset and you will bank your accumulated points. If your character is hit and takes damage during a combo, it will break and you will lose the points. Basically this means the game will reward for playing skilfully so you should aim to keep the combo count on the rise whenever possible and at the same time avoid being hit.
