What are the Legendary Ships

There are five legendary ships in Starfield that you can acquire. They are listed below.

• Pilgrim

  The Pilgrim excels in space battles and exploration. It also has a decent amount of cargo space.

• Mantis

  The Mantis is the fastest and most powerful of the legendary ships. Its ability to attack quickly makes it particularly effective during dogfights.

• Constellation

The problem with legendary ships is that they won't just appear in front of you, they often have to be stolen from the Crimson Fleet or Spacers. Below is a list of the different strategies you can use to discover and get the legendary ships in Starfield.

• Exploring

  There is always the possibility that a legendary ship will appear as you are exploring uncharted star systems. Make sure you use long-range scanners while exploring to detect potential abandoned ships floating out in space.

• Complete Quests

  There are specific quests in Starfield you can undertake that will lead to acquiring a legendary ship. One such legendary ship is the Mantis which can be obtained by investigating the unexplained death of the Mantis Clan.

• Defeat Rogue Captains

  Another way you can obtain a legendary ship is by defeating space pirates who are notorious for stealing them. There is no shortage of pirate factions and rogue commanders patrolling Starfield’s space lanes.

• Crafting

  You can construct your own legendary vessel but this requires a lot of work as it involves scouring numerous star systems for rare resources and blueprint plans. If you decide to go this route you will need to invest in engineering and crafting knowledge. The reward is a legendary ship built precisely to meet your requirements.

• Salvaging Ancient Ruins

  If you search excavation sites and old alien ruins dispersed around Starfield there is always the possibility of finding damaged but recoverable legendary ships from earlier eras. If you allocate skill points to your salvage and archaeological skills you will increase your odds of finding them.

• Purchase from Special Vendors

  You can purchase legendary ships directly by finding special faction vendors that have them for sale. The price is exorbitant, it typically ranges in the tens of millions of credits. Although expensive it is the most dependable option.
