Introduction

I've decided to do a review on this game, because this has been unnoticed by many, and this game is my favorite 3D Sonic game. This is my opinion, so if you don't like it, you don't have to listen to it. In this game you get to play as both Hero and Dark Character (even Dr. Eggman), which I think is neat.

Graphics

For that time period the graphics were excellent! If you didn't use any glitches in this game, then you shouldn't have any problems with the graphics. Also I like how they made the inside of the moon, and the astroids look so real. I am amazed on how these graphics improved since Sonic Adventure. The machines also looked real.

Sound

The sound in this game was better than any other Sonic game. The voice actors were just about as good as you can get for Sonic and his pals, unlike the 4kids ones now. I think that is the only thing I can say here that is a fact over an opinion. The music here is fantastic, and most of the songs such as Live and Learn, For True Story, and much more! The sound effects (such as losing rings, destroying robots) were also great and realistic.

Gameplay

The gameplay here is is good as it gets. It is challenging, cool, and gives you this sense of speed that hardly any other game can give. You can feel the rush in the game! The speed stages (Sonic & Shadow) were the best, they were perfect. The machine stages (Tails & Dr. Eggman) were also very good and action packed. But the treasure hunting stges (Knuckles & Rouge), they weren't as good...they weren't bad but it seemed like it was something that you want to get over with quickly so you can get the more fun stages (with the excepting of Meteor Herd (one of Knuckles's levels-it was pretty fun, and you could run really fast there)). The camera angles were great at most times, but sometimes the camera would mess up for some time. The glitches in there were pretty cool. But I still don't really like most of them (except for the super bounce).

Lastability

This game lasts a LONG time! There are 180 emblems to collect, there is an "endless" Chao Garden, Kart Racing, and the Green Hill Zone. Also even if you did collect 180 emblems and all your chao are Chaos Chao, then you'll always, and I mean always fine something to do. There are much more options in this game than the ones I mentioned above.

Overall

There is almost no major flaws in this game, if not any, that is. In my opinion, this is the best 3D Sonic game that we're going to get! I've known this game ever since it came out ('02) and even it's Dreamcast version ('01), and I still have a lot of fun playing it, and I always find something that I can improve on. This game the one of the best graphics for it's time, had great voice actors and music, had a good gameplay, and lasts forever! You can't go wrong with this game. If you have a Gamecube or a Wii, I highly recommend this game!
